Editing Blog Part 2

When I tell you that editing a commercial is a lot harder than it looks. There was a short period of time where we couldn't edit due to computer malfunctions. However, ever since we received laptops in replacement, everything has been running smoothly. Well, smoothly if you have patience because Pinnacle Studio is pretty slow. However, me and my partner manage to get ours done by Wednesday.
We knew that we were going to have much time to do it so as soon has the laptop hit our desk we jumped on it. We started by importing all of our videos that we knew we were going to use into pinnacle studios. Once all the videos successfully imported, we worked on the lengthening of the video and smooth transitions. When we imported all of videos, the commercial was one minute. But after editing, cropping, trimming, we was able to make it 27 seconds without our ending title slide. We had a total of 11 videos in our commercial. However, it may not look like it.
We prioritized our time right, therefore after the visual things were done, we worked on sound and music. My partner was suppose to provide the song, however I had suspicions that they were going to forget or not fall through so I downloaded our song just in case. And well, lets just say I'm glad I did that. So I downloaded my song off of my google drive and imported it from my folder to the Pinnacle Studios. Because our song is such an essential part to our commercial, I had to detach all the audio from our footage. After that, just like the video, I had to crop our song so that it wont make our video 3-4 minutes long.
The last thing to do was import our Nike title screen at the end for dramatic effect. We also made sure that while this screen is in display, the music is especially loud. It said "Nike: Find your will." I kept and kept replaying our video to make sure everything was perfect. Each time I replayed it, it seemed as if I find something new to correct. Whether it was a transition, timing, or split. However, the ending result was really nice. I believe our commercial ended in 29 seconds. If you ask me it looked like a real, bootleg version Nike commercial. All transitions were action shots except one. Also, our back up plan was a great and a major significance in full-filling the roles. Tomorrow, we are going to check and make sure all of our progress saved, see if there is any additional touches, we need to make, and send it off.
