Music Video Storyboard

In the beginning of our video, we plan on doing short clips of poses. We chose to do this because of the original music video it had the idea with every drum tick. Our location will be at a Porsche dealership because in the beginning of the song Cardi B says “Drop top Porsche”. My wire drove will be 80’s pop wear because that’s the type of vibes the song give. Which loves us to the second scene when I’m in the car singing the lyrics in the beginning of the song. In the third scene I am walking down the street of los olas. As I walk down the street, I’m dancing and showing joy. Hopefully I can get people to join the fun video with me as we record. That’s my goal. The walking down the street scene continues to the 4th as I try to incorporate a good deed. Also I will be flashing money and jewelry. This is because in the song they speak amongst a lot of wealth. After this part she says “Like Ayeee” and on this part (5th box), I come out of the dressing room in a whole new wardrobe. Then I end my part at the beach.
Then it moves to my partner part. He starts in a store where it shows him shopping and singing as well. This shows he has what it take to spoil himself. Then in the next scene he is walking down los olas for the part that says “When I’m walking with you”. Our plan is to find somebody for him to walk with and show off. He then moves back to the exotic car dealership and he once again show off wealth and a fun way. He goes to the beach to show off some dance moves and for the scenery. The video ends at the car dealership when the last thing you hear we the beep beep of the car.

Planning

The song we planned on doing is Finesse by Bruno Mars and Cardi B. Thus song is very upbeat and fun so we want our video to match the same energy. The song is not dark, therefore our lighting well be bright and full of colors. I location will vary with every scene. One will be at a exotic car dealership because in the beginning of the song it says "Drop top Porsche". Another location will be at the mall for the changing of clothes. Lastly, we will also film at the beach fro the nice scenery. We will make sure are around a lot of people and our parents are near for all safety situations. We will also have water to keep us hydrated for we are filming outside.
Our props will contain: jewelry, money, cars, and people. Since the theme of the song is to show off some type of wealth, we figured these props were most appropriate. Our costumes will be old-school, 80's type. We chose thus because it represent a type of pop culture. On the first day will will film the intro of the song at the car dealership. On the second day of filming we will review and clean up the car scene and move on with the rest of the Cardi B scene. On the third day will have finished with the intro and we will be doing the singing part of the song. Then when we have time to correct any part that will feel that can be changed.

Music Video Research

So my commercial project is done and now we are moving onto the music videos. I’m going to take what I learn from the commercial as far as editing and camera angles and incorporate it into the music videos. I think what was most beneficial to me about the commercial was knowing the importance of having a backup plan just in case things don’t go as planned. However, this time I’m hoping to improve on my sharpness in transitions. As far as the music video go, I’m exited to do it because it is longer and full of energy. A music video is very different from a commercial because it is trying to show a story or create emotion to the audience through the song. Whereas a commercial is trying to advertise a business or business product.
The song we decided to do is Finesse by Bruno Mars and Cardi B. We chose to do this song for various reasons. The artists of the song are modern and very well known. Many people love their music. Also the song itself is upbeat and happy which will put people in a good mood. Many people must love it because it received 620million views on YouTube. It even received a award for Favorite Soul/RNB song at 2018 American Music Awards.
The genre of the song is mixed with a little bit of pop, RnB, and soul music. Although this sounds old school, the youth is the group that enjoyed the song this most (because of the artists). In the video the camera movement pretty much followed the movement of the dancers. The shots included: close up, medium close up, and medium shots. Their transitioning was very fast because many shots included short silly poses. In order to remake this video, we would have to find clothes from like the 80’s or 90’s that represent a pop culture. The lighten may vary, however many of the videos are vibrant in color. Therefore ours will be too. The acting was very joyful. You can tell through the facial expressions and the way the people were dancing in the video. I’m sure makeup was applied for the actors, but for our video makeup will be optional. The props they used in the video included paintbrushes , painting in a white room. Our props may include money, jewelry, and a radio. The sound will obviously include the Finesse song. What will make our project unique is that will incorporate other people  in our video to enjoy the fun.

Editing Blog Part 2

When I tell you that editing a commercial is a lot harder than it looks. There was a short period of time where we couldn't edit due to computer malfunctions. However, ever since we received laptops in replacement, everything has been running smoothly. Well, smoothly if you have patience because Pinnacle Studio is pretty slow. However, me and my partner manage to get ours done by Wednesday.
We knew that we were going to have much time to do it so as soon has the laptop hit our desk we jumped on it. We started by importing all of our videos that we knew we were going to use into pinnacle studios. Once all the videos successfully imported, we worked on the lengthening of the video and smooth transitions. When we imported all of videos, the commercial was one minute. But after editing, cropping, trimming, we was able to make it 27 seconds without our ending title slide. We had a total of 11 videos in our commercial. However, it may not look like it.
We prioritized our time right, therefore after the visual things were done, we worked on sound and music. My partner was suppose to provide the song, however I had suspicions that they were going to forget or not fall through so I downloaded our song just in case. And well, lets just say I'm glad I did that. So I downloaded my song off of my google drive and imported it from my folder to the Pinnacle Studios. Because our song is such an essential part to our commercial, I had to detach all the audio from our footage. After that, just like the video, I had to crop our song so that it wont make our video 3-4 minutes long.
The last thing to do was import our Nike title screen at the end for dramatic effect. We also made sure that while this screen is in display, the music is especially loud. It said "Nike: Find your will." I kept and kept replaying our video to make sure everything was perfect. Each time I replayed it, it seemed as if I find something new to correct. Whether it was a transition, timing, or split. However, the ending result was really nice. I believe our commercial ended in 29 seconds. If you ask me it looked like a real, bootleg version Nike commercial. All transitions were action shots except one. Also, our back up plan was a great and a major significance in full-filling the roles. Tomorrow, we are going to check and make sure all of our progress saved, see if there is any additional touches, we need to make, and send it off.
